Exodus 20:5-6 says 

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

So often in life, we make decisions without first thinking about how they affect our children and future generations after us. What we do in the physical realm has deep and profound implications in the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm operates on rules, laws, covenants and contracts. So many of us are still operating under covenants and contracts that were forged many generations ago. We can either be in covenant with Jesus Christ or the devil but we can’t both. 2 Corinthians 6:14 -Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?

Maybe a grandparent 10 generations prior was involved in the occult, or someone in your bloodline went and saw a witch doctor for healing, money, or a problem they were dealing with and they had to form a covenant. The devil play for keeps and he never gives someone without requiring something greater in return. The devil doesn’t care about money or fame. He will give you what ever you desire, so long as he gets your soul. Mark 8:16- For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  

These foundational powers don’t just leave without putting up a fight. They are very stubborn and tenacious especially if they’ve been in a bloodline for 100s of generations. These are familiar spirits and they always show up in your dreams as family members who have passed. If someone consults a psychic, medium, or any kind of witchcraft, these satanic agents contact the familiar spirit attached to your bloodline to get information about you. These familiar spirits pretend to be family members that had passed away and they know intimate information about everyone because they watch very closely everyone in that bloodline. So no grandma did not came back from the dead to talk to you via a medium and no grandpa is not visiting you in your dreams, it’s a demonic foundation spirit. 

This foundational spirit or familiar spirit is responsible for enforcing curses in a particular family bloodline. Are all the women barren in your family? Is everyone unmarried, or are divorces very common? Is there a history of a particular sickness in your family? Is there a history of untimely death? That entity, that ancestral spirit is responsible for enforcing such generational curses. Poverty, lack, untimely death, perpetual singleness, single parenthood, and dating the same type of toxic individuals over and over. Their job is to monitor you, they’re also called monitoring spirits. They monitor you and make sure you don’t progress beyond a certain level in life. 

How to fight against these malicious and dangerous Spirits. It takes the power of God, some faith, living in the will of God so kick those perpetual sins to the curb. Don’t give the enemy anything to accuse you of or open doors that gives the

 Legal right to keep operating in your life and the lives of your children and future generations. Get in the right heart posture before God, repent of your sins and sins of your past generations going back 100 generations. A lot of prayer and fasting. You can find prayer against familiar Spirits on Google. Fast for 7 days and pray those spiritual warfare prayers especially between 12am – 3am. Pray for 7 days or until God delivers you. Keep a dream journal and document your dreams. You’ll know when you’re free based on your dreams and the level of warfare you experience. Be sure you cancel those dreams where the enemy attacks you when you wake up. Cancel and renounce those attacks and break all covenants and legal agreements the enemy tries to form in your dreams/ spirit realm.  Only God can set you free from the bondage of the enemy
